Privacy Policy
Last updated September 22, 2026
WeBet is operated by Shear Ventures LLC, a Florida limited liability company ("we"). This policy explains what we collect when you use webet.cash, who we share it with, and how long we keep it. It is written to be read, not to be skimmed past.
The short version
We collect your email address, the picks and groups you take part in, and the wallet address your money sits in. We never see your card details, your bank details, your government ID, or your Social Security number: those go straight to the payment provider you choose. We do not sell your data and we do not run advertising.
What we collect
Account
- Your email address, and the account identifier our login provider gives us for you.
- The display name you choose, which the rest of your group sees.
- The address of the wallet created for you, and of any group pot you control.
Activity in the app
- The groups you belong to, who invited you, and whether you run a group.
- Every pick you add, the price it was added and sent at, its result, and any emoji reaction you leave.
- Money you add to a pot, stakes that go out, wins, and payouts, each with its public transaction reference.
- Your notification switches, and which notifications we have already sent you so we do not repeat them.
Technical
- The time of your last signed-in request, written at most once every ten minutes.
- A count of landing page and invite link opens, so we know whether an invite worked.
- Errors you hit, with the page you were on and your browser type, so we can fix them.
- If you turn on push notifications, the subscription your browser gives us and the device type behind it.
What we do not collect
We do not collect or store payment card numbers, bank account details, government identification documents, Social Security numbers, or passwords. When you add money with a card, you are handed to a licensed payment provider that verifies your identity under its own rules and tells us only whether the funds arrived. We never see what you gave them. We do not track you across other websites, we run no advertising trackers, and we do not buy or sell personal data.
Money moves on a public blockchain
WeBet settles on Arbitrum, a public blockchain. Deposits, stakes, wins and payouts are recorded there permanently, and anyone can read them. A wallet address, its balance, and everything it has ever done are public by design. We cannot edit or delete anything written to a blockchain, including after you close your account. Your name and email are not published on-chain by us, but be aware that anyone who learns your wallet address can see its whole history.
Who we share it with
We use other companies to run the service. Each gets only what it needs to do its job.
- Login and wallets. Privy signs you in and creates the wallet you control. It holds your email and the keys material behind your wallet.
- Adding money. The funding providers offered in the app, today Stripe and MoonPay, with Coinbase being added. They verify your identity, take your payment, and deliver dollars to your wallet under their own terms and privacy policies.
- Placing bets. Overtime, an on-chain protocol on Arbitrum, which receives the legs of a slip and the wallet paying for it. It does not receive your name or email from us.
- Hosting and data. Vercel hosts the site; Neon stores the database. Both are in the United States.
- Email and push. Resend sends our email. Push notifications travel through the push service built into your browser, run by Apple, Google or Mozilla.
- Support. The chat bubble runs on Crisp, which loads on signed-in pages. When you open it, Crisp receives what you write, your name and email, and what the app sends along so we can look into it: the page you were on, your phone and browser, your groups, your wallet address, and the last error the app recorded for you. Email to support@webet.cash goes to Help Scout.
- Scores. A sports data provider gives us live scores and box scores. We send it no information about you.
We also share information where the law requires it, in response to a lawful request from law enforcement or a regulator, to investigate fraud or a sanctions match, or to enforce our terms. If the business is ever sold, account data would transfer with it, and this policy would follow it.
What other members see
WeBet is a group product. People in your group see your display name, the picks you add, your record, how much you have put into the pot, and any payout you receive. They do not see your email address. A slip you or your group shares outside the app may show your display name and your picks to anyone holding the link.
How long we keep it
We keep records of money moving in and out, and of the checks around it, for five years, because the rules that apply to a business handling money require it. Account and activity data is kept while your account is open. Error logs and page-open counts are kept for a short period and then cleared. Anything written to a blockchain stays there forever, and is outside our control.
Your choices
- Turn any notification off, by kind and by channel, on your notification settings. Every email we send carries a one-click unsubscribe.
- Ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, or ask us to correct it.
- Ask us to delete your account. We will remove your profile and your personal details, and keep only what the five-year rule above requires, plus whatever is already on the blockchain, which nobody can remove.
- Withdraw your money to any wallet you like, at any time, without asking us.
We honour those requests for everyone, wherever you are, whether or not a local law obliges us to. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for behavioural advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of on that front.
Children
WeBet is for adults. You must be at least 18, and older where your state requires it. We do not knowingly collect anything from anyone under 18, and we delete such an account as soon as we learn of it.
Security
Access to the database is limited to people who need it. Sign-in happens through our login provider, so we hold no passwords. Your money sits in a wallet tied to your login rather than in an account we control. No service is perfectly secure, and we will tell you promptly if something happens that affects you.
Where we operate
WeBet is not available to people in the United States or in the other prohibited jurisdictions listed in our terms. The companies listed above process and store data in the United States, so wherever you are, your information is handled there.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top, and we will tell you in the app or by email if the change is one that matters to you.
Contact
Email support@webet.cash and a person will read it. If you need a postal address for a formal request, ask and we will give you one.
